Kelly Khumalo went on an X-rant after Ntokozo Mbambo won Album Of The Year

Kelly Khumalo went on an X-rant after Ntokozo Mbambo won Album Of The Year: This Year’s South African Music Awards (SAMAs) had their fair share of drama. The most exciting moment was when Ntokozo Mbambo won three awards, including Album of the Year and Female Artist of the Year, beating out artists like Hlengiwe Ntombela (HLE) and Kelly Khumalo.

Pop singer Kelly Khumalo wasn’t happy with her win and went on an X-rant.

Both of them were up for Female Artist of the Year. Khumalo wrote on X (which used to be called Twitter), “Angenesabi nonke!” to say that she didn’t fear anyone.

No one can fool Ntokozo when it comes to numbers. We’re not scared of her. She wrote, “Fuseg Samas.”

Her conversations with one X user quickly turned from insults to homophobic remarks, for which she later said she was sorry.

It didn’t bother the gospel star; she went about her media tour as if there were no problems on X because of her SAMA awards.

Following her wins for Album of the Year, Best Contemporary Faith Album, and Female Artist of the Year, the 38-year-old singer thanks her fans in an X post on November 21.

“Words fail me!!!! I’m in awe of God, His faithfulness, His favour, and His love! Thank you @Koko_Records @NqubekoMbatha and @TeekayMthembu and the whole team, Thank you @WyzMedia,” tweeted Mbambo

She told eNCA’s Thami Ngubeni Mbambo that she was calm going into the awards, thankful for being nominated, and not really expecting anything. “Scripture says that he is faithful even when we are not,” Mbambo said, reflecting on the events of the past weekend. He was enjoying a victory lap on Monday morning following the award ceremony.

The last time something like this happened was when the late rapper Riky Rick criticized the Metro FM awards.

During his victory speech, the musician expressed his disapproval of the fact that it was difficult for many individuals to have their music aired on the radio if they did not have the financial means to afford it.

In an interview that took place on Trending South Africa not long after the awards presentation, he discussed his outburst. According to the late rapper, he frequently “said the right thing at the wrong time,” and there was a great deal of criticism directed on him as a result of his words.

“I made friends at that station, and I felt like I hurt the relationships I have with those friends and the people who have helped me throughout my career. That video makes me feel bad because I know I could have done better. “But you know what? Sometimes the message comes with lemons,” he said.
