Meet The Top 30 Finalists for Miss South Africa 2023: The MusicAfrica Media team published an article earlier this week notifying the audience about the unveiling of the top 30 finalists for Miss South Africa today. We never let you down.
Ané Oosthuysen is 25, a primary school teacher from Vanderbijlpark in Gauteng’s Vaal Triangle, and she is a four-time graduate with degrees in Psychology and Medical Sociology. She is deeply dedicated to bringing about change in her community, particularly in addressing prevalent concerns such as bullying and cultural expectations. Working with youth has underlined the importance of empowering and educating them. Ané wishes to be the driving force behind this shift.
Anelisa Nxele, a 22-year-old model from iNanda in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, with a Social Sciences degree with a major in Economics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She describes herself as focused, gracious, and a force to be reckoned with. Anelisa enjoys watching beauty and leisure material and hopes to meet the first black African billionaire Mr. Patrice Motsepe, to discuss poverty alleviation ideas through sustainable community development.
Angie Mkwanazi, 23, comes from Durban in KwaZulu-Natal and graduated from the University of Pretoria with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. She plans to use her credentials to enter decision-making bodies and speak for the communities that influenced her. She is a Big Bang Theory enthusiast who thinks she is hilarious and exclusively eats Eskort bacon.
Anke Rothmann, 23, represents the Northern Cape as a pharmacy intern. She enjoys being spontaneous, going on adventures, watching Friends, and listening to Taylor Swift. She holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from North West University. Anke’s goal is to inspire others to cherish more than simply outward aspects by redefining what counts in life.
Barbara Moagi, 22, is from the North West province of Mahikeng. She is a student of digital marketing in her second year at Vega School and a digital content generator. She describes herself as adaptable and open-minded and is passionate about storytelling with a purpose. She fantasizes about dining with Michelle Obama and likes unusual meals like “chotlho le ting.”
26-year-old Johannesburg native and qualified attorney Bryoni Govender is currently employed as a trainee associate. She is awaiting approval to practice law. She describes herself as graceful, aspirational, and brave and enjoys a delicious mutton curry on the weekends. Dogs are Bryoni’s preferred pets, she adores them. Her passion for exploring new places is only surpassed by her desire to speak with actress Angelina Jolie. She admires the actress’s support for women’s empowerment and her commitment to bringing attention to women’s and girls’ rights around the world.
Model and dog lover Carmen Barnard, 24, of Gauteng, earned her Bachelor of Law degree. She promotes female leadership and empowerment and is well known for encouraging diversity. Carmen enjoys her love of spaghetti, which she would happily eat every day if she could.
Hestie Jooste, a financial advisor from Pretoria, Gauteng, is 25 years old and exudes charisma and self-assurance. She accepts challenges while being supported by a caring family and enjoyable friends. Despite her affection for chocolate, Hestie puts forth a lot of effort to help clients reach their financial objectives by providing knowledgeable financial guidance and sharing happiness and love.
Homba Mazaleni, a trained sports scientist and student intern at the University of the Western Cape, is a Biokinetics enthusiast. Her mission is to help people heal from accidents and illnesses, allowing them to follow their dreams. She also enjoys binge-watching TV shows for leisure.
JORDAN VAN DER VYVER
A 27-year-old model and businesswoman from Durbanville, Western Cape, is the co-founder and COO of an innovative online platform. Her purpose is to provide unique insights, professional counsel, and inclusive resources to striving individuals in order to promote a varied and inclusive society.
A 23-year-old Social Science and Geography teacher at Hartbeespoort High School in the North West is passionate about her job. She wants to build leaders with inner beauty and credibility, having a deep influence and shaping a better society through her real and trusted voice, with a soft-spoken manner.
Keaoleboga Nkashe 27, is an educator, student, and model from Itsoseng in the North West. She is passionate about LGBTQIA+ and children’s rights, and her lifelong dream is to head up kindergartens that focus on STEAM education.
Khanya Desi twenty-two 22, is a model from Frankfort, Qonce in the Eastern Cape who has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in screenwriting. She wants to work with Agriculture and Rural Development to provide support and encouragement for individuals to help themselves and expose them to the lives of people living in poverty.
Lebohang Raputsoe twenty-four (24) is an HR practitioner from Sharpeville, Vereeniging in Gauteng with a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management and Industrial Psychology. She is an advocate for youth advancement.
Lerato Maponya is a 26-year-old from Soweto, is a graduate from the University of Pretoria with a degree in International Relations. She works as an HR Manager in the emergency services industry and is passionate about philanthropy and giving back to her community. She also enjoys watching MasterChef and pretending to be a chef on her own cooking show.
LEVERN “DONNATELLA” JOSÉ
Levern “Donnatella” José is a BCom law student and entrepreneur who wants to work with the Ministers of Small Business Development and Employment and Labour to investigate the economic viability of South African women and youth.
Lungo Katete is a creative from Midrand in Johannesburg, Gauteng, with a passion for design. She earned her Bachelor’s, Honours, and Master’s degrees in Architecture from the University of the Witwatersrand. She enjoys exploring her creative side through music.
Malandi Marais (21), from Citrusdal, is a model and law student who would be honored to meet with Constitutional Court Justice Madlanga to discuss ways to ensure fundamental human rights are maintained and improve societal prosperity.
Mbali Mbalu is a 25-year-old marketing manager and consultant from Cape Town who aspires to inspire young people to reach their full potential. She plans to visit 30 countries before the age of 30.
Melissa Nayimuli (27) was born in Butterworth, Eastern Cape to a Xhosa mother and a Ugandan father. She is a passionate storyteller who works in Johannesburg as a TV and film creative producer. She believes in finding ways to unite Africans, break stereotypes, and celebrate diversity.
Michelle Kruger 28, is a candidate attorney and model from Mpumalanga who graduated from the University of Pretoria with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts in Law. She would like to have lunch with Mmusi Maimane to ask him for advice on aspiring leaders.
Nicole Eksteen is a 28-year-old from the Western Cape who has an honours degree in fashion design and is a project manager for a design and marketing agency. She is an adrenaline junkie who enjoys hiking, running and extreme sports like skydiving and bungee jumping.
