Penny Lebyane Mourns The Death Of A Friend Upon Their Disappearance
Steven Phiri’s family has filed a murder charge.
Penny Lebyane, a media figure who earlier this week called for help in discovering a missing individual, is now mourning the death of her companion, Steven Phiri.
We sought for help yesterday. We tragically lost our darling Kopano Steven Phiri. A son, brother, and friend.
Thank you for your prayers and any assistance you provided to us. What an unbelievable 24 hours, Lebyane posted on her X account on Saturday, after Phiri’s death was announced.

When The Citizen contacted Lebyane for comment, the broadcaster stated that she was waiting to talk with Phiri’s family before speaking with the media.
Worst Fears Materialized.
Phiri’s family issued a statement on Saturday, following days of looking for him.
Despite our collaborative efforts and the public search to find him, Steven’s family has confirmed that he has left us.
A report of murder and missing vehicle has been filed with the police as we seek justice for this awful loss.
We want to thank everyone who helped with the hunt for Steven during this difficult time. Your help has been invaluable, the family stated.
Phiri’s family has appealed for prayers and more help at this tough time.
Details surrounding arrangements for Steven’s burial proceedings will be communicated to you at the earliest opportunity, the statement went on to say.
