The reality show’s parent channel, Mzansi Magic, confirmed in a statement on Friday night that Multichoice had looked into the case of Bravo B and Makhekhe’s conversation.
Anything that puts the safety of the housemates on the show at risk is not okay with us, and we take gender-based violence very seriously, the statement said.
Bravo B got kicked off because he started and led the conversation. Makhekhe got in trouble, and the channel said it would ensure that Makhekhe is coached to call out anyone who speaks or acts in a derogatory manner.
Makhekhe got two strikes for making fun of other men for treating women with respect and, by extension, using rude language.
“Hate speech” is when you use offensive words to talk about intimate acts. If Makhekhe gets one more strike, he will be kicked out of the game, the show said.
