Hitmakers Venom and Shishiliza are breaking down the creative process behind their latest chart-topper, “Flight Ya Hoseng.”
Having graced the music scene for years with hits like “Sondela,” DJs and producers Venom and Shishiliza shared insights with SAHipHopMag regarding their latest track and its inspiration. They emphasized that “Sondela” serves as a perpetual muse for their music, describing it as a successful formula they continuously enhance. The duo promised listeners feel-good music that transcends age barriers.
Discussing the evolution of their sound, they explained, “Flight Ya Hoseng is a continuation of the sound we showcased on our Album ‘Love is Pain.’ There’s nothing too different about it. We are just picking up where we left off and focusing on building on that sound.”
Detailing the collaboration process, they revealed, “After working on the beat with Yumbs, we were stuck for a while trying to figure out who to feature on the song. Remembering a similar feel from a song recorded with Ch’cco years back, which was never released, we reached out to him.”
They continued, “Ch’cco recorded half a verse and had to leave. We rearranged the song to make that unfinished verse the hook. Months later, Baby S.O.N. jumped in, and lastly, Nomfundo. Nomfundo’s manager, Mpilo, heard the song and suggested we add Nomfundo at the last minute. She came to the studio the same day to record.”
